Software to control Darjeeling Tea

Darjeeling: Darjeeling Tea Association, there are 87 registered gardens in the hills produce about 9.5 million kg of made tea annually, an estimated 40 million kg is circulated as Darjeeling Tea worldwide.

To stopped the illegal import of green tea leaves from Nepal and maintain the standard of Darjeeling tea worldwide, Tea board of India has decided to install the software program ‘Online Trade Chain Integrity System’ in all tea gardens of Darjeeling hills. The software will be developed and installed by DSS Software Pvt. Ltd.

The system which will track, monitor and maintain the true data of the entire supply chain of Darjeeling Tea. Field reports, factory reports, invoice entries etc. should be updated everyday Online from all the registered tea gardens of Darjeeling hills.

The system is expected to start working within next six months. The staffs of registered tea gardens will be trained to work with this software.

Any defaulter is liable to be black listed, cancellation of registration etc. The tea garden will be prosecuted under Section 105 of the Geographic Indicator Act., if found guilty.
