Panicking CPI(M)

In a perfect world, things would be perfect, or so we would hope… but in a world that is not perfect, the one who wields the stick… rules….

For the past 35 years, CPI (M) and its sidekicks (allies) have always wielded the biggest stick in West Bengal… and for the past 35 years, CPI (M) has been the de-facto government of West Bengal…. Many may wonder… So? CPI (M) wins the election and it has the right to act as the government, what is the big deal? Well!! The deal is that, a political party is different from the government…. A political party may form the government, but the party in itself is not the government…. and more often than not, all the political parties in general and CPI(M) in particular seem to have forgotten or ignored this distinction to the peril of the people…

Various CPI (M) politburo members have always wielded more political power and mileage than the ministers in West Bengal and till date every politburo member has acted… like the member of Burmese military junta… “absolute ruler”…. No wonder, the CPI (M) members have more often than not, gotten away with murder… rape and violence…. Be it Chandmani…. Nandigram… Singur or Darjeeling…. When people demand justice from the government, it is the party that responds….  

Therefore it feels so good to see CPI (M) panicking this time around…. For there is a genuine chance that CPI (M) may not directly translate to mean the government of West Bengal…  

The Congress-Trinmool coalition has the potential to cause serious dent in the CPI (M) vote bank this time around… added to that is the Adivasi revolt in South-Bengal… not to be forgotten the Adivasi call for vote boycott in North-Bengal… The Muslim community which has religiously supported the left in West Bengal… may take a different route this time… The murder of Rijwanur Rahaman… the rapes in Nandigram… and the role played by the West Bengal Police and the government in these cases… leave very little room for doubt that, this may well be the beginning of the end for CPI (M) and its dictatorial rule…

This whole saga however, will remain incomplete without mentioning the Darjeeling hills and the indomitable spirit of the people…. The fiefdom of CPI (M) has completely come to an end in Darjeeling… it’s puppet ruler has been kicked out by the people… and for the first time in the history of Darjeeling… finally a National Party of repute has agreed to legally look into our demand for Gorkhaland… It may take some time… but there is hope… and this hope is what has caused CPI (M) to flip out….

The CPI (M) will react in a very negative manner to any positive development for our move towards Gorkhaland… they will support dissenters like Subash Ghising… Madan Tamang etc… and may try to cause physical harm to Gorkhali’s in the plains…

The need of the hour for all of us is to stay united and vote as one single block… GJMM should involve those parties such as KPP… CPI (ML)… SUCI… etc… that have supported our demand for Gorkhaland and request them to vote along with us…

This is the time for inclusion and trust me… the whole nation is watching this election as a mandate for or against Gorkhaland… so this time around… if we can show that “Yes!! We do want Gorkhaland”…. It is very probable we might just get it….

This is our chance to kick some CPI (M) butt… so let’s get together and make a memorable dent…
