Three wheelers leave hill town

Darjeeling: People of Darjeeling witnessed the colourful three wheeler rally, with the Milan Band Party from Siliguri leading the way from Red Cross to St. Joseph’s School. Mr. Nawang Gombu, the first to climb Mt Everest twice, was there to greet the adventurers.

The 35 auto-rickshaws run without route map from Cochin, Kerela to Darjeeling, with 75 odds participants mostly from UK and US, sponsored by Dot Travel of US, they were scheduled to have a cricket match, but ended with football game, surprise and unexpected were the part of the game.

The Run was for adventure and it was for charity. The team has collected about $70,000, which will be given to a local non-profit organisation, while the auto rickshaws will be donated to needy rickshaw drivers in Siliguri, which makes it a purposeful affair.
