Auto rickshaws handed over

Siliguri: 34 three wheeler auto rickshaws, which was used for the auto-rickshaw run from Cochin, Kerela to Darjeeling, organised by League of adventure for 75 different participants mostly from UK and US, have been handed over to different self help groups of Siliguri and Darjeeling, such as: Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, Preyerna, Matigara Yesu Asram, Uttaran etc.

The function was held at Siguri, where Mr. Ashok Bhattacharya, Municipality affair minister, received the keys of Rickshaws from the representative of organiser. After the success of auto rickshaw run, League of adventure plans to organise every year such a rally in different form.

Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad received the 11 auto rickshaws, which will be used by self help groups and health assistance unit of SMP. Rest rickshaws were handed over to Darjeeling based NGO and organizations.
