State Reorganization Committee after 50 years!


  • image This State Reorganisation Commission will be perhaps our last chance to realise our dreams and aspirations .We should wholeheartedly support the creation of Gorkhaland putting aside our petty political bickerings and thus ensure a future for the comming generations.This is not going to be easy as West Bengal will not give up our lands without a fight.The present leadership may grab the oppurtunity of a few hundred crores as development funds but do they realise how much money is earned by West Bengal just from the share of power from Teesta and other rivers in our lands.This is peanuts they are offering.As for the Sixth Schedule ,its another ploy to marginalise ,divide and deprive the hill community because most of the provisions in the schedule are not going to apply to the Gorkha Council.Let us not be fooled again ,once was enough and we have suffered.To those who say not again, look at history and tell us for whom Justice and Eguality has come easy,all of them had to fight for it.   • image One should be positive in one's goal and I think one should not waste any chances for the fullfillment of the goal. Thus with this thought, I think and strongly feel that the people of Darjeeling and all the party working for the welfare of Nepali people should actively take part and put their positive and assertive sugesstion to the SRC, which has been constituted by the party in power and in having the control over the central goverment. The positive point in this issue is that atleast our long cherished dream of statehood would be highlighted and brought into the record of the center and public at large.Further we wont be crying over the split milk again....i.e. 1955 episide.So there is a need to take part in this issue irrelevant of party to which you belong......(New Delhi-110001)
