I hope the recently concluded tripartite talks leads the movement more towards our demand and its good to know that it has sent a positive vibe among people of the hills.According to my opinion, I guess its high time to show them the inefficiency with which the state government has been handling the macro-economy of the state of which we are presently part of.There has hardly been any development in the state.All the taxes go in the pockets of the beauracratic ladder.The rest is spent in the urban areas, in the metros and the adjoining areas of Kolkata where the money is very poorly utilised.We seriously need to show our state government that we do not want to be a part of a state where there is so much inefficiency and hardly any development.Instead of being a part of a big inefficient state, a smaller administration is better.The whole of Bengal is in chaos.People in the urbans are happy with all the things at their disposal while the poor keeps getting poorer.We should argue with the so called political thinkers of Bengal in the line of economy.We have to argue with them that we are capable of making a Gorkhaland a second Sikkkim of India.We need to get united now and close our eyes towards all those diving factors in our society.We need to be clear with our demand.Every person needs to be enlightened with the real cause behind our demand of Gorkhaland.We need to stay united and strong and not give up now. As a staunch supporter of the GNLF and now a supporter of any party who truly, meaningfully and righteously support a separate state for the Gurkhas in India, I say the article was nicely written and I wish to read such writs more. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us respect Subhash Ghising’s contribution to the call for “GORKHALAND” as the “FATHER of the GORKHALAND MOVEMENT”……. However NAIVE, “DARPOKE” or ISOLATIONIST our GORKHA FATHER he may have been …….. he has become a SENILE and SPENT force as have all his lackeys who still stick with him while the majority of the Gorkhas have shifted their allegiance to GJMM and BG …………. So, as a father we may respect you as all Gorkheys do their fathers and forefathers ………. No matter how tyrannical or autocratic they may have been and no one hopes for your SARADEY yet, but please, please, ……… in the words of the famous poet musician ………… “PLEASE GET OUT OF THE NEW WAY, IF YOU CANT LEND A HAND ………. The best poll strategy for our “beloved father” would be to divide the Commie vote bank in the plains and stay in the heat of Jalpaiguri where you rightfully belong and ran to........................................................................................................... As Hillman suggested in his reply, GJMM ought to support Congress and in his own words: “which is akin to sailing with the tide with no sails required (sic*). Hence the natural and traditional choice would be with the Congress”…………. Look back “Hillman”, even though the “masses” may have a short memory –------ has the Congress done anything in the past for GORKHALAND??? but to reiterate that mass sentiment that “Bengal will not be divided” and understandably so, to woo the WB masses???.................. And when RAJIV GANDHI had offered “Union Territory” status to SG, he should have grabbed it ………. But “FEAR” was his “Achilles Heel” and what a “HEEL” he turned out to be…………. Meanwhile, when EX-Sikkim CM - Nar Bahadur Bhandari switched his allegiance to Congress for a little “loft” of a residence on a Congress building in the Development Area of Gangtok (and now has to hock his proud residence at Ranipul --- from pauper to prince to pauper again – never knowing what hit him and what “deep seated sentiments” mean to people) …………. For it was this deep-seated resentment of the Congress head “Indira Gandhi” gobbling the nation of Sikkim for the people of Sikkim to never forgive NBB and thus he lost all power which he may never again regain………….. which of course he is trying to do by beating the GORKHALAND drum for the Nepali voting base in Sikkim. In the politics of “LIFE” there is nothing more respected than “POWER” and GJMM and BG know this, and the benevolent and level headed Italian born Sonia Gandhi - knows this best as does MARIO PUZO. So get this – our respected Hillman – (whoever you may be, with no insult intended) – the only GORKHA POWER on the battlefield was when the “AAYOOO GORKHA!!!” scream rendered the air and all opponents knees turned to jelly……. The natural law --- like gravity ……….. like a stone falling down, and not upwards ………. Is to NEVER SAIL THE TIDE WITH NO SAILS on the back OF SOME ONE/or/SOME PARTY ….. Dear Bisha Munda, Dont speak like a favicol man...India will be India, even if we have 50 states..as patriotism counts..not a petty physical boundaries... Remember, amio Bangali...I want to see equality of status in India in real sense.. Bengals are enjoying in Bengal, Marathi in Maharasthra, Bihari in Bihar, Panjabi in Panjab...where is the equality for Gorkhas/Rajbangsis etc.... Let them have Gorkhaland/greater Koochbihar. If we think too many states divide India, we should first disolve our own West Bengal....we should ask all other states to dissolve their existing states too... Why cant we live as one INDIA? If we cant do that, we have no right to supress Gorkhaland demand..

Lies galore! Bengal government has always cooperated with elected bodies. In fact Bimal gurung is trying to become the father of a new state which is imptractical. How the question of 1907 arise. India was in the hands of British then. Since then so many states has undergone so many changes. Does it mean that West Bengal should be reunited with East Bengal? Bimal is working as an agent of foreign vested interests. If a small state with an area less than 1000 square KM is created then hundreds of such states has to be created for other ethnic communities in India. This will then be the begining of disintegration of India and that is what exactly Bimal wants. If he is sincere, he can demand integration of Darjeeling into Sikkim which too is a land of Nepalis.

I can still remember the fateful day of July 27,1986 when, as an exhuberant teen,I gleefully marched along with the thousands others,decked in green and gold converging to one destination.. the Mela Ground at Kalimpong.It was burning of the Indo-Nepal Treaty they said,we would be getting a state of our own they said,they,happened to be one man,a messiah for us hilly billies. What happened that day was a catastophore. It changed the face of the hills forever.I lost good friends. Well Mr Subhash,I know you've lost your wife, my sympathies...but, honestly, did you grieve for the many who laid down their lives, console the broken hearted,be the messiah ? I think not. Building Matyrs Memorial do not bring them back..Now after decades, the clarion call is renewd again. We've all moved on... All I can say from the western shores is People, Stay the Cause. It is really high time. We once fought for Gorkhaland. 20 yrs passed. Martyrs were not treated well. Unemployment problem is gone to the sky. Tea gardens are closed. The first citizens of Darjeeling are bound to send their children to other states in search of employment. All the offices are filled by the citizens of neighbouring country. Wake up youth.

subash gising can never be treated as an hero, may be the author does not know the meaning of Hero.Please refer to a dictonary .Subash gising was never a political leader nor a good person as he was always self centred and bussy sending his kids to abroad for further studies .he has lost his significance and yet more is stored for him . He will get a pinch when all his property will be confiscated by the people and distributed to those who lost their life in serch of gorkhaland . he should also be thrown out from our new state (gorkhaland ) or else he will corrupt the society. jai gorkha.

What Ghishing did and what he did not is not only his doing but was mastermind directly by the WB government. We the people of Dj made a mistake by thinking Ghishing was a true Gorkha but actually he was a "Gu-kha". He danced to CPM's music in Bengali tune forgetting our folk tune and he sided with Hitler style governance of DGHC. Behind DGHC the WB government carried out their political atrocity experiment on us the way Hitler did to Jews. Therefore, Ghishing alone is not responsible for mismanagement of DGHC as the WB Government encouraged him. All the shambles in Dj’s public infrastructures, public amenities and misuse of funds are for 20 years is a clear signs of atrocities of the WB government in Dj. Only and simple reason is that they hate us. Just imagine that the WB government has full experience of governing the state amicably but they intentionally neglected Dj and destroyed its infrastructures so that Dj people would suffer more. If they had any good intention for Gorkhas or hill people they would have done something appreciable. Our innocence is the real reason of our abnormality. We take anything easily without any complaints and waited 20 years for change. The WB government kept Ghishing happy with illicit cash flow and he played his part very well by forgetting his promises to Dj’s people. He was a perfect shield for the WB government in their game of carelessness, arrogance, depriving progress and development projects to Dj people. Ghishing was their Chamcha and he directly fell in a trap of his own making in trying his best to keep the WB government very very happy. Just imagine for 20 years he dance to the tune of WB government surrounded by his courtiers. Who were like those courtiers of King Kennute who once ordered the sea waves to recede on advice of these courtiers. It is also a well known truth that Ghishing used to hide behind his courtiers all the time and he did whatever the WB government asked him to do. Enough is enough and eventually due to his blind actions favouring WB government he was force to abdicate the throne of DGHC. Of course this served him right. Not only him all the courtiers must be brought to justice and punished accordingly. CBI must find out the facts on misuse of public fund and try to retrieve them as much as possible. This should set an example for future kings.

Pranay ji, what Ghishing did was not calculated chhapro being converted to buildings between narro streets. What I really would like to see a progress in drinking water, public toilets, proper car-parking, good and healthy hospitals not the same crowded 2 old hospitals, wide road for tourism and related business. Do we need rock gardens in a far distant? Do we need cement ko murtis to show our culture than our daily needs. Ghishing had the power and unlimited power to disciplined the illegal howkers, illegal structures and its staff in the managements. Nothing is beautiful in Dj due to carelessness in part of the DGHC and also in part of every individuals who are only after the roji-roti and endlessly playing survival goals. The WB government is laughing behind the screen. Because the monkey raaj is their gift to Dj. Well what happened was imminent and hope that we have a new light of hope rising in the horizn. we must not fail again.

hey guys I belive that all this is wrong yes I agree that Ghishing has made mistakes but then the ground reality here is about employment we love chest thumping "We are Gorkhas" talk but is removing any one going to solve our problems :Good that a man does is oft interred with his bones....."there was a time when you could olny see old jeeps and beat up landrovers in daj when we could afford only a single set of new clothes in a year when most houses had straw roofs That was then this is now look around you things have improved.What we need is a change not in others but in us and however bad ghishing may be you have to give him credit he did try he did spred the dough around yes some got less some got more or else how do you account for the large number of bikes zooming around daj ?
