AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION, NEPALIS ARE BASICALLY FROM NEPAL, BRITISH GAVE THEM THE NAME GORKHA, ONLY WHO WERE RECRUITED BY THE BRITISH AND AFTER INDEPENDENCE OF INDIA THEY LEFT SOME OF THEM IN INDIA (WHICH WERE YOU) AND LATER TAKEN CARED BY THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT AND LET THEM LIVE.(OUNGLA DIIN DA HAATH NIIL SHHAAS). • This is a comment on the present mode of agitation for Gorkhaland in the Darjeeling Hills. Please consider who are the benificiaries and who are the sufferers. The shopkeepers and businessmen who are selling above market price before every anticipatory indefinite stikes are mostly non_gorkhas. Just go around Darjeeling and you will know which community most of them belong to. Who are the people who benefited financially when dress code was imposed on the people of Darjeeling during the Puja tourism season last year? Who are the people who had to buy exorbitantly priced garments for friends and family or face the consequences? During the agitation last year for the first time in my life I had seen beggars in Darjeeling, in such numbers! and it made my heart bleed. They belong to the Thami class who depend on the tourism industry for their survival. In today's fast track society can we afford the luxary of indefinite strikes ? The GJMM is a political party registered with the election commission of India (acc. to Wikipedia). What prevented them from contesting the 2009 general elections on their own ? The fact that it would definitely have given them a much greater bargaining power at the center irrispective of which political party came to power ? Is the GJMM really serious about 'Gorkhaland' ? What do my fellow readers think ? Can we have a vote on this irrespective of whether you like my article or not ? For myself, my answer is No, I do not think the present group of leaders are serious about 'Gorkhaland'.

• Lazy Daisy regularly posts her view....... the problem is that he/she wants all of us to view the world as she does.......... and most often than not.... her views are....... irrational...........earlier she commented in another news page that someone called Thakuaaa was "Showing the true nature and culture of the Bengalese”………………… perhaps he/she has earned a doctorate on Bengali culture and character…………………….. My opinion is, he/she is working as a hate machine for some hatred preaching politicians who want the Nepalese and Bengalis to hate each other……. Who has said that Gorkhaland is bigger than Sikkim………….. Except for some portions of Jaigaon and Jhalong, go and shout “Gorkhaland” anywhere in Duars, and you would get the answer……………….... And success does not mean that people make merry with money donated by centre……….. what is Sikkim’s contribution to India’s development??? Building high rises with money coming from Delhi is something different, and generating revenue for creating your own infrastructure necessary for development is another thing……….. Now the Sikkim University has come up…… let us see, if they can produce some great scientists/economists, etc, that would be another way of contributing to India……………. Listen, I may be wrong (I am no God that I will say everything right), but I sincerely believe that the more hatred in the minds of the hill people, the easier it will be for politicians and other hopeless people (I do not consider this Rudi even a politician) to exploit my simple and honest pahari brothers and sisters………………………………………...

• The issue of Gorkhaland has simply become a begging bowl for the politicians of Darjeeling hills. I have doubt on the sincerity of some leaders who are after fulfilling their personal greed and are earning crores and crores of rupees .I am afraid when do we people realize their motive and stop backing them.

Gorkhey's will still be called Bahadur in North Indian states....so lets leave that aside....But the thing is development and bringing simple necessities in life within the reach of common people for example ....drinking water...maintenance of roads...proper garbage disposal....sewer lines...etc..new colleges..University....but with the leaders as corrupt as they are now...fattening like 'Parey Sungur' with 1.5 yrs of the renewed agitation...owning dozens of vehicles, buying gold worth 7 lakhs for Dhanteras....buying land and flats left and right.....where are we going....where is Gorkhaland???....it is the same story repeated under a different banner.....look at the state of Darjeeling....we have no one to blame but ourselves...Gorkhs daju..UFFFFFF....you must be a contractor hai..... • Mr. Bimal Gurung is leading the GJMM, because he has to lead and keep the issue alive, Till the issue/ Agenda is alive Mr. Bimal Gurung is alive. If the issue and the support of Darjeeling Distt. People once stopped, then Indian Govt. will open all his previous and present cases then Mr. Bimal Gurung and many of his basics associates will have to face all the consequences, which Mr. Gurung knows very well, that's why he is and he will lingarring the issue of gorkhaland in the name of our future generation, just because he has to live.

• Before comparing with Sikkim, one should know the history of Sikkim, Sikkim was the Territory of Tibet and when chinese invaded Tibet and almost had some part of India, that is Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, During that period China made a deal with India, that if India should n't interrfer in their occupation of Tibet, they will let Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh leave for themselves and so they did. Namgyal dynasty continued to rule Sikkim but slowly Indian Govt. took undercontrol at first the place was granted all kind of foreign allowances, India have to take proper care of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh because China reminds/ threat India for the same time to time. So, that is what and Why Sikkim is uncomparable.

• Fedup of hearing all these bullshit.First we the people of Darjeeling should come forward unitedly to select a good reliable leader& then talk about statehood.the leaders should not run after money,which is still going around.From 1 car to 10 cars & from lakhs to crores.They(leaders) are earning a lot of money for themselves, developement for themselves,sending their children abroad for higher studies, where does the money come from.Here, what they do is, ask every student & individual to come out for statehood,spoiling education.Once the solution for statehood is solved who will be the in the ministerial posts,administrative posts, again we will have to hire from outside since we do not have qualified persons, this has been proved in this past MP election.We could not give birth to MPs, how can we think of CMs.

• Strike in Darjeeling is one of the instrument to mould opinion of the public. They think that people will come under such blackmailing tactics and will give up but its wrong to think so because people have now realised the mistakes they have done during the autocratic regime of Ghising and they are not going to come under any pressure.

• Sorry to say that I did not enjoy reading this, its just a story only.listening to such stories I have spent my teenage & now I do not want to spoil my child's future.All leaders are the same,talk of statehood , & once the power is in hand they run after money.What I have seen is that present leaders are also after money & not serious about statehood.They just want to scare the govt by talking about strike & finally they compramise in cash,in the long run we, the lower middle class people suffer.Everyone knows what is going on but no one can speak, because democracy no longer exists.

• My parents both have medical conditions and whenever an indefinite strike is mentioned there is so much anxiety ,stress and tension because whenever there is a strike it is very difficult to arrange for transport and all the rest of it.These are one of the common citizens' genuine concerns about strikes.

We don't see any difference between both, as people of Darjeeling has to suffer in both way Because, by Threatening, they have to stock their food (either its expired or not) doesn't know for how many days, but those financial crisized, how they gonna stock their food? And by Declaring, that will be more suffering to the whole people of Darjeeling specially to those who earns day to day in a basis of no work no pay. So, what's need of that place who doesn't have people to live, If people dies of situation crises called by GJMM, before that. People of Darjeeling knows all, At first CPM comes with Communism and Dada Raj, after that GNLF leaded by the S. Ghishing and Bimal Gurung himself by scamming all the govt. sanctioned peoples fund, Striking, interfering in others religion and now comes GJMM sees nothing to do peculair and following their former exactly with their bone head forcefully.

THEY HAVE NO REGARD FOR US AND THE SUFFERING AND STRUGGLE WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH DUE TO THEIR "INDEFINITE STRIKE" NOTWITHSTANDING THE DAILY STRUGGLE FOR BASIC AMENITIES SUCH AS WATER, PROPER ROADS, ETC DEVELOPMENT OF A DECENT INFRASTRUCTURE MUST GO HAND IN HAND WITH THE STRUGGLE FOR GORKHALAND. ITS GOOD THAT THE BJP HAS COME INTO THE PICTURE. AT LEAST NOW JASWANT SINGH IS USING THE CORRECT POLITICAL AND DEMOCRATIC CHANNELS TO BRING ABOUT DEVELOPMENT FOR THE HILLS. • It is very interesting that BJP has sent Rudy to Darjeeling....was it not the same perosn as spokesman for BJP had said during the discussion on NDTV/ Star NEws that the BJP was not in favour of Gorkhaland and would never support the divisin of Bengal???
