  • image Religion is a personal matter. India is multi ethnic-cultural-religious state where the right to freedom of religion has been guaranteed by the Constitution under Articles 25, 26, 27 and 28. The individuals may find solace in worshipping varieties of gods whose existence can't be proved by rationality or evidence or science but the individuals as supreme being in himself should be conceded his freedom to hold on to his belifes, for freedom is the supreme human virtue and is an essential ingredient to human existence. Beside, freedom is rational and as such entails respect even at the hands of sceptics. Upholding individual freedom at any cost is the moral/humanitarian obligation. The critical stand on part of the writer to the belifes of the individuals reveal the subjugation of freedom and thus humanitarianism value of freedom. It is an earnest request to the writer to reconsider her scepticism about the freedom, in general and right to freedom of religion, in particular.
