Poll: 4th Tripartite Meeting
During the 4th Tripartite Talk, GJMM has been immensely pressurized to focus only on the creation of Gorkhaland, besides, the conclusion of the Meeting seems to be only TALK on POLITICAL LEVEL in next round. Do you think 4th Tripartite Talk has been successful?

  • image In grade 4th of my Primary school, I had many bengali classmates, all were my friends but one of them -- Ghosh was different. Even as a child he had the guile & cunningness that was extraordinary. He would tease me in the class, and being a simple and strong Gorkhay, I would show him who the boss was. Now he was the instigator, I was the responder. Next day he would bring in his parents who were high officials and the principal would call my parents and I would get punished for no fault of mine. It was like CPI instigating violence in the Hills and then calling CRPF to murder local peoples. But this Gorkhay learned the lesson and waited for the two months Summer vacation. On the last day of school after the classes are over I got hold of Ghosh.....

  • image BURNING OF HOUSES AND CARS ARE NOT THE SOLUTION TO ACHIEVE GORKHALAND. THIS KIND OF ACTION CLEARLY SHOWS THAT WE ARE HYPOCRITES....ON ONE SIDE THE LEADER OF GJMM SAYS WE BELIEVE IN GHANDIBADI AND ON THE OTHER HAND HIS GOONS DOES ALL THE ACTIVITIES THAT ARE HARMING THE IMAGE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE, WHICH IS WORLD WIDE KNOWN AS DARJEELING..... OFCOURSE SUBASH GHISING RUINED THE HILLS, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN HIS DECEASED WIFE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE CREMATED IN DARJEELING.....THAT IS AWEFUL.... WE THE PROPLE OF HILLS ARE KNOWN FOR OUR DESCENCY AND FOR BEING KIND HEARTED.....THEN WHAT KIND OF SIGNAL IS THIS TO THE WORLD.

  • image You are right da...voilence will get us nowhere..or may be it will get us somewhere near...cascade of TEARS..

  • image Right from the beginning all of ushave been hearing that the movement is nonvoilance and the GJM leadership are harping on it yet the goons do not understand the implications of resorting tovoilance. Resorting to voilance means inviting CRP in the hills l. AWARENESS compaign at the lower level may play decisive role. Excellent article written by Mr Upendra. More such articles are expected from him. Thanks .Jai Gorkha. Jai Gorkha Land.

  • image I was jolted out of my reverie as the spine-chilling news of one of the supporters of the GJNM ,miss Pramila Sharma being killed by one of the supporters of the GNLF made my head spin like a top in alarm ." If Gorkhas are the Gorkhas's worst enemy " then how can we prepare ourselves to fight in the last battlefields of Gorkhaland ?? No doubt ,there are people with their vested interest in every political party who don't hesitate to take the full advantages of such gruesome situation .After all ,Gorkhaland is the demand for all Gorkhas ,so why should we bathe with the blood of our own people ?? The leaders of the GJMM should now put their finger on such elements which is the main root of problem that stigmatizes the stature of the party's non-violent and Gandhian Movement.. Lastly i thank the writer ,mr Upendra for his thoughtful article which urges our leaders to proceed with caution for the demand of GORKHALAND...Jai Gorkha...jai...Gorkhaland......

  • image Origninality cannt be stored for longer duration as we have seen the terror everwhere amonsts the exGNLF councillors and their supporter.althoug some of them genuinely resigned longtime back,I am talking about the Netra Thakuri who had resigned from lucrative GNLF organization long time back and was suffering from Cancer.Such is the battle plan of our GJMM.Its clear that same stock/minded people have filtered into GJMM lured by the prospect of getting more deal in Gorkhaland(their sole aim of life). This is just the beginning of the beginning.Oh! god! please give wisdom to our people.Hope we will not fight amons ourselves.Jai! Darjeeling.jai1 Gorkhaprant!

  • image Hey all, jai gorkha! I read the online Darjeeling Times everyday, far away from the extant ‘Times of Darjeeling’. I am poignant about the recent news posted up on the site every time (be it a hyped one or a genuine truth). It’s really sad that the course for a separate land is taking the same path as the 1980s agitation. Where lies the difference? Where lies the maturity and experience of the mass loss? And where lies that sincerity again? Be it a GNLF house or a GJMM house, the house is still a gorkhae’s. I may be sounding too emotional but we all ought to be one now. To take the words of John C Maxwell “Leadership is influence”…. So all lies in a leader. This is true, also for the ongoing global crisis for terrorism, all in a leader. Hope all these texts are making some difference to the ongoing local propaganda. Officials there, may be undercutting saying these petty scribblings will make no much a difference, but it surely does make a lot of sense, even a one-line comment, say to be more pragmatic. I wanted to let this to the Editor, if DT is corresponding the feedbacks to the concerned authority for analysis, maybe just a consideration. We have already entered into a rightful public domain, so kindly do make use of it. Thanks...ME, CONCERNED TOO..

  • image Firstly this article is a great eye opener, provided we read it very closely - all of us are supporters of Gorkhaland and we have always voted in favour of our motherland - but at what cost - I understand without sacrifice, nothing much can be achieved - but at the end it was a nepalis house getting burnt, nepali didi getting killed, nepali bhai & bahini, suffering - when our objective should be hit back at bengal govt hard - firstly as nepalis we should unite together and work towards a common cause - GORKhALAND - first target the outsiders - we hear stories about CPIM Bengalis - beating nepali supporters in Siliguri - what is stopping us from uniting and showing what us Nepalis are made of - takkar dinu parcha

  • image I really like the articles written by Upendra. But, I must point out that in this one he got it all wrong. He corroborates the speculation of the Himalaya Beacon that the deceased woman was not a part of the rally who had gathered in front of the house of GNLF leaders to shout at them. In his condolence speech, even Mr. Bimal Gurung acknowledged that the deceased woman was one of the few supporters who extended their unconditional support when the party was just coming into being. Since this article is quite weak at the base itself, I would say this does not make for a good reading. He would have done justice to his article if he had written about the (un) necessity of the Nari Morchas to organise rally daily in front of the house of Mr. Ghisingh and other GNLF leaders.

  • image where did pramilla get shot near deepak gurung's house not near her house why because she instigated violence, wrong and hurt tothers and the same she got in return, why shold they go and gheroe anybodys house ok the house of the president of gnlf but glf has been out from the scene for a while now and why did the gherao his house there was no reason to do tht if anybody comes and does the same i will do the same what deepak gurung did, is this a movement for gorkhaland or against gnlf and the reality about glenarys is not gorkhaland it is obvious jealousy and nothing else . i am not a betrayer to my land and the people but will not support anything that is not right this leadership is not right and their values are not right the only one thing that is right is the demand for gorkhaland except that everything is wrong and my dear friend 'concerned' i agree with you , you make sense

  • image We are simple public who don't know the politics deeply. We are fully depended on our Neta's,whether its GJMM or GNLF.We are the same people who use to vote for GNLF,who fought for the Gorkhaland which we never got but yes we loss may people and things.I personally dont know whether Pramila was the supporter of GJMM or not?But yes this incidence has shattered all.Now everyone living in Darjeeling has no life...may be u will be killed tomorrow either by GNLF or GJMM.So where should normal people go?We were totally devoted towards Ghishing at the time of 80's agitation and now history repeats now we are dying for Gorhaland under B.Gurung's presidency...and we should not forget that he was also the member of GNLF once.I don't want to say anything to any of the parties....whether they are doing good or bad but i only want people to know that its our life we have to save.Whatever the corruption is going in Darjeeling but world is not waiting for us....its still moving.I tell all,if we really want Gorkhaland than why there are two parties within Nepali people? Why can't our Neta's be loyal to their people? How can any one say that B.Gurung will not let us down?Right now i pray for all the people of Darjeeling please fight for "your self and for your identity"not for anyone! If we destroy our houses our heritage or anything....its only our loss...nor state govt. nor central will rebuild it.So its the 21st century and everyone is educated now....must know who is right and who is not?

  • image Violence can never be justified be it GNLF or GJMM. For the arsony and loot GJMM has to take full responsibilty as mobs and crowd of people do not gather suddenly and start burning and looting. They need someone to sway them into action as these things dont happen everyday. I think Upendra cant be naive and not see the truth in all this just to please the GJMM leadership. He's almost come to the point of blaming the GJMM for the violence and then suddenly retracted and put the blame on others, suddenly realising that he cannot make the GJMM unhappy or they might come and burn down his house. Burning houses and cars in anger are seen eveywhere in India, but burning one's own heritage is unheard of. Look at the state of Glenary's after all this mindless violence. Glenary's is not about Ajoy Edwards or a once upon a time GNLF supporter. It is about Darjeeling's rich and cultural heritage. Its our legacy and something that was as synonimous with Darjeeling. Now all we can telll our children is that we used to have some kind of heritage Darjeeling which always got burn or vandalised everytime there was rampage and violence in the town created by mindless fools. At this rate we will soon lose all that our forefathers had so painstakingly left us.... At times like this we should not believe in rumours or press releases. Who said Pramila was not a GJMM supporter or activist. She was one of the most active members of the GJMM camp at Merry Villa / Lhasa Villa. Go and ask anyone from that area and you will be beaten up for mistaking her as a bhajan atendee...Let her rest a Martyr, cos thats what she is now... beleive it or not.
