Friendly neighbourhood cops


  • image It's a step but it's gonna work only if the Police Department and most importantly, the citizens of our proud town follow it up.Just setting up booths and forgetting all about them is not going to solve anyone's problems.People have to help the police in putting an end to scores of crime that plague Darjeeling every day.I only hope that some orientation programs are held for the police department in order to keep them updated about the crimes that occur today.Most of our senioe officers have been around for 25 plus years.it would be silly to expect them to run around nabbing criminals.What the department needs are fresh,young legs.Get some unemployed but eductaed youngsters in the force.Post them in threes and fours in some of the sensitive areas in town...especially at night.Make our town safe for women and children.Let our families be able to stroll around the mall road in peace. If not the police department...who??? if not now...when??
