During the 4th Tripartite Talk, GJMM has been immensely pressurized to focus only on the creation of Gorkhaland, besides, the conclusion of the Meeting seems to be only TALK on POLITICAL LEVEL in next round. Do you think 4th Tripartite Talk has been successful?

The Communist Hegemony – Eastern Europe Revisited

The Communist Hegemony – Eastern Europe Revisited

Mao Tse Tung once said, “…Communism is not love. Communism is a hammer which we use to crush the enemy”… seems like… the communists in West Bengal follow only this doctrine of communism. It happened in Eastern Europe; it happened in Nandigram; now it’s happening in North-Bengal. The communists in West Bengal have taken over from where their communist Russian masters had left during the cold war era. The patterns are the same and so is the lack of humanity and benevolence on part of the communists that marked the communist rule from 1950’s till the fall of communism in 1989.

Numerous nations, nationalities and people across Eastern Europe had been subjected to ruthless persecution and intimidation by the communist Russia, same tactics are being used by the CPI (M) led West Bengal government in the foothills of Darjeeling and areas in and around Doors (Duars). The communists in Russia did not allow freedom and independence to people who were non-Russians; they refused to acknowledge the rights and liberties of other nationalities. The communists in West Bengal have taken the same attitude towards people who have had the guts to defy them and stand against them.

People in Nandigram refused to bow down to the might of CPI (M), their defiance was crushed brutally and thousands of people were killed, raped and brutalized by the communist machinery. The state police part of the communist Gestapo watched with relish the murder of thousands of helpless farmers, very much like when every state organ was controlled by the communists in Russia.

Hundreds of thousands of people who are against communist rule in West Bengal, and want a separate identity of their own, a separate economic system, a freer and democratic form of governance are being targeted by the communists in the North-Bengal region. Yesterday the CPI (M) frontier organizations such as Bangla O Bangla Bhasha Bacchao Samity, Aamra Baangali, Janchetna Morch, Janjagaran Morcha fully supported by state machinery brutalized the town of Siliguri. They invaded neighborhoods where minority people live; they specifically targeted the Gorkhalis, who have always defied the communists and their party machinery. This is very similar to how the minorities in the then USSR were treated, with threat and violence.

CPI (M) claims that Janchetna and Janjagaran morcha are apolitical bodies; I wonder what promotes these apolitical bodies to get involved in political issues that too armed to the teeth? The West Bengal police incompetent as ever continued to look the other way when minority Gorkhalis were been harassed and beaten up by the rowdy communist mobs across Siliguri. In Doors, school children and women of Gorkha ethnicity were targeted and brutally beaten up right in front of the police, but un-surprisingly enough the police didn’t do anything. As can be seen in the picture here, the West Bengal police is giving out the VICTORY SIGN, after the mob finished terrorizing kids and women in Siliguri.

B. Rai a resident of Jorebungla, Darjeeling who escaped with his vehicle heavily damaged told me over the phone that the mob had specifically sought out Gorkhali drivers and beaten them up and damaged their vehicles while allowing other vehicles to pass. College and university students studying in and around Siliguri were threatened and some even beat up in Shibmandir area. Same is the story from Bagdogra, Malbazar, Oodlabaari, Kalchini, Hamiltongung and many other places.

CPI (M) knows how the game is played, and in fact to them goes the credit of perfecting the art of violence against the minorities. This time around, they beat up the people who were peacefully protesting against government decision not to allow the voice of dissent to be heard in Naxalbari by staging hunger strike, which ironically was the breeding ground of independent India’s first peoples revolution (Naxali movement), the failure of which allowed CPI(M) to come in power.

Once the innocent protestors were beaten up, the state machinery got to work, with the Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister speaking against the innocent hunger strikers. In Oodlabari, the attack on the tourist vehicle which was carrying tourists from Kolkata was a premeditated attack orchestrated by the CPI (M) to rouse people’s sentiment. The local police had not even started investigating the incidence, local news paper, controlled by CPI (M) were ripe with stories of how Bengali tourists were targeted and harassed by GJM supporters. How did the media come to know it was the GJM activists who harassed the tourists? Who in today’s world would be stupid enough to harass people while flying their party flag high? It was a well planned attack as orchestrated by CPI (M) and it had desired effect on the people. The media completely controlled and spoon fed by CPI (M) continued to mention that it was a clash between GJM and LOCAL PEOPLE; tell me something, why are local people always clashing with GJM? The media tried to hide the fact that CPI (M) was sponsoring planned violence against the minority people. With all this CPI(M) had finally succeeded in dividing people along racial lines and taking peoples attention away from the main issue of separation from West Bengal. However, thank god for small mercies, national and international medias got interested and the real story is out… “CPI (M) INCITES ETHNIC VIOLENCE AGAINST GORKHALIS”

By targeting the minorities and threatening them, CPI (M) believes that the voice of dissent will be subdued, what they fail to see is that the voice of dissent will grow louder and stronger with every atrocity meted out on the minorities. The voice of dissent will give rise to millions of echo with every act of suppression. The voice of dissent will be ever so sincere and defiant with every act of treachery. The proof lies in the fact that till yesterday very few people were aware of Gorkhaland, but today Gorkhaland as an issue is recognized and known about not only in India but world over. As the communist Russia crumbled to pieces in 1989, so shall communist West Bengal, for your hegemony will always be resisted by free spirits like us.

I humbly request our people to maintain peace and not give in to the temptation of violence. The world is watching and our actions will define who we are. With non-violence and peaceful means we shall achieve Gorkhaland and no force on earth will be able to stop us.

Finally! I leave you with immortal lines as stated by Woodrow Wilson “Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of liberty is a history of resistance.”

Hope! I made some sense

Upendra

  • image A must read article for anyone who wants to understand the Communist permeation of power through hegemony...In fact Upendra did very well to draw the instance of Communist hegemony in Darjeeling from its counterpart in Eatern Europe and China. In fact, Mao's notorious doctrine of "Cultural Revolution" witnessed a large number of public upsurge by the cadres of Communist Party of China when the people sought to voice out their grievances. It eventually led to Mao's own downfall by his own core group which carried out his orders - The "Group of Four", which also included Mao's wife. The Communist in Bengal are also heading towards its own down fall through its inherent, to use Marxist terminology,'contradiction'.The days of Communist hegemony in Bengal can now be counted on fingertips.

  • image Thanks Upendra ji, A very true picture of CPM's atrocity in Dj. I would also like to add another Mao’s phrase that "Power grows from the barrel of a gun". The CPM has followed this theory time and time again. During Mao's Cultural Revolution millions of innocent people were put to death by his People Liberation Army. Maoist in Nepal at first followed the same theory but gave it up understanding the present political scenario is different than Mao’s time. They followed people’s sentiment and won the election. But WB CPM Government follows Mao’s idealism and would resort to violence. It is very clear that the newly formed political parties in Siliguri are CPM's People Liberation Army (collective Bangladeshis). They are especially formed to kill innocent Gorkhas and their off springs. The first jolt of ethnic cleansing will start at Siliguri. In order to use them the CPM is facilatating its effort to create a perfect situation to avoid direct criticism. They are not unaware that if they carried out another massacre like that in Kalimpong in 1986 the Gorkhas will retaliate with full force this time. It would be very costly to CPM to invite Tamil Tigers Elem at their door step and it would bring criticism to Centre as well. The CPM understands that the Gorkhaland is imminent but before conceding to inevitable political pressure they must kill as many Gorkhas as possible to satisfy their ego. The Communists are always thirsty for blood that's why their flag is red. It is very clear that the GJMM has to be prepared for all kind of situation. The Central is quiet as it is sure that it would be a win win situation for them. Because it is an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. We have to understand that there are senior leaders in Congress who are not sympathetic towards Gorkhas. Central’s silence would encourage the CPM in using force and when the situation blows out of proportion and there would be an international outcry against an open massacre the Central would blame the CPM. In politics it is always a blaming game. The more you blame others the more support you would get. This is the reason why CPM leaders are always harsher than any other political parties. They know that power only be achieved at the expense of ordinary people. Beside liberty is always very costly. We have to pay very big price to get it. The end of CPM era is already at horizon and to stay in power it has to take any desperate measure. “Jab giddar ka maut aata hai to sahar ki taraph bhagta hai”. Therefore, use of full force by CPM is very imminent. The GJMM must try their best not to give them any excuse. Although incident at Siliguri has shown that they the CPM orchestrated the attack on tourist bus and blamed GJMM supporters. They did the same in 1986 when they burned down my house which was the first house burning incident started by CPM supporters in 1986 and next day “the Statesman” reported that the GNLF cadres had destroyed the CPM members’ house. The CPM as always depends on their lies but their time is running out. If they manhandled the Gorkhaland issue they will go down never to rise again. They can handle the situation amicably and become heroes or could become politically zero. They must understand that the Gorkhaland sentiment is not isolated in hills only but has sprayed all over India and overseas too. Both Centre and WB governments must not take it very lightly. History would be witness of their mishandling of the situation. We are very patient people and always sided for peace. We have to be tactical and must remain vigilant. The culminating situation indicates that our statehood is in horizon. All the best for GJMM. Jai Gorkhaland.
