some days ago i was in u.p. There i meet a man (bihari) he asked me where do u belong, Darjeeling! I replied, he (teasing) said, Oh! Nepal, no I replied, It is in bengal, not in Nepal. he shocked! and said, how can be it(darj) in bengal, you are not a bengali, you does not look like bengali. you are a Nepali and you have to be in Nepal. not in india. so fren this is my small incident in this (my own) country.How i feel when dis moment happen can u feel it?..........i dont want to repeat this history to my other brother and friend, and only we can stop this incident by acquiring our status,our ego our place....GORKHALAND..OUR BIRTH RIGHT... (Posted by Pinky, March 23, 2010, 12:07 AM) Dear Lepcha brother,’ itihas ke andhea’ , heres a piece of history,Sikkimwas formed in 1641:read Lo-Men-Tsong Sum”Agreement between 3 tribes Lo-Bhutias,Men Lepchas,Tsong-Limboos.Prior to Sikkim The area ie todays eastern Nepal and western Sikkim was ruled by 10 limboo kings –Limbuwan kingdom.(todays kalimpong was a part of Bhutan.).Under Prithivi Narayan Shah this Darjeeling dist and plains upto Sunkosh river belonged to Nepal 4m 1790-1811-16 .With the Treaty of Sugauli 1/3 of the land of Nepal (including kumaon &Garwal hills were ceded to British India. The British returned the land (Darjeeling District) 2 Sikkim and were paying Rs6000/-royalty 2 Sikkim for using darjeeling dist.After India became independence India continued paying the royalty but in lakhs 2 sikkim till it became a part of India in 1975. U were one of the tribes in this land….nowhere in history this area belonged alone 2 u only.
