Telegraph changed its statement

Darjeeling: Just two days back, news published in telegraph was the reason to go wild the volunteers of Darjeeling Carnival. The news impact was so huge that at 6:30am, the famous Dj police band was withdrawn from the Carnival show and the police security, marathon was withheld from Carnival schedule. Nearly Carnival was in position to shut down. Telegraph hoarding around the Carnival premises were completely destroyed just in front of police by Carnival volunteers. Telegraph quickly corrected its statement in today’s issue as organizers ‘grateful’ to Ghisingh, the organizers thanked GNLF chief Subash Ghisingh, the administrator of the DGHC, for helping them put up one of the biggest shows in the hill town in recent times. It further added that one of the organizers of the event said: “ We are grateful to Ghisingh for helping us. We respect him for all the work he is doing for the Darjeeling hills. The fest is not a movement against him.”
