Darjeelingtimes News Magazine fourth edition

Dear Readers,

Welcome to our fourth print edition of the News Magazine of Darjeeling hills,

These past fifteen days were hectic and I was confined within my work space due to unexpected alteration of plans on our News Magazine management setup.

Anyway, our fourth issue is on the news stands with the NEW SETUP and OUTLOOK.
 
In fact, as a news magazine, darjeelingTimes.com, is our sincere effort and contribution towards our beloved Darjeeling; possibly this is the only known mode for us to do something for Darjeeling hills altruistically.

As I am always concerned and determined about the consistency of this News Magazine, under such wretched economic situation of Darjeeling hills, we seriously need volunteers with a zeal to do something for Darjeeling hills at least for the time being till we stand on our own.

Moreover, I am now more encouraged with our talented Gorkha youths who have very recently lend their hands on this News Magazine, as well as with the generosity of our respected citizens of Darjeeling. I am equally surprised to see their ardent love for Darjeeling hills. Hopefully this platform will come to their use, after all, the fate of Darjeeling hills depends on this upcoming generation.

Everyday, we are in a process of learning, getting more experienced, we are trying our best to be organized. For the first time our small Office for darjeelingTimes has been setup in SHREEBAS, 2/2 A J C Bose Road, Below Green Lawns School, Darjeeling. Many young enthusiastic journalists have joined us as volunteers in our News Magazine.

Though financially, in every Edition we have incurred losses but we have not lost our hope. Instead, we are gaining your strong moral support and confidence, which is our driving force towards the consistency of this Magazine, making this News Magazine as a common voice of Darjeeling hills.

Lastly, I would like to appeal all our readers to contribute articles for this News Magazine and we do expect to receive your opinions and suggestions and make this Magazine more interactive.

  • image Lies galore! Bengal government has always cooperated with elected bodies. In fact Bimal gurung is trying to become the father of a new state which is imptractical. How the question of 1907 arise. India was in the hands of British then. Since then so many states has undergone so many changes. Does it mean that West Bengal should be reunited with East Bengal? Bimal is working as an agent of foreign vested interests. If a small state with an area less than 1000 square KM is created then hundreds of such states has to be created for other ethnic communities in India. This will then be the begining of disintegration of India and that is what exactly Bimal wants. If he is sincere, he can demand integration of Darjeeling into Sikkim which too is a land of Nepalis.

  • image I believe ,Darjeeling times is not only the voice of Darjeeling people but it's a collection of lucky charms to inspire all Gorkhas on life's journey for the creation of our own homeland so hope it'll keep on blooming in all seasons ,even though I know the edition of a magazine is such a steady uphill slog ,not an easy task .CONGRATES and best wishes too.
