Darjeeling, August 9: Team GJMM now officially entitled as the government authorities entered into GTA headquarter Lalkhoti with people’s mandate along with the blessing of Mamata government. GTA Chief Bimal Gurung and his executive members officially entered into GTA Secretariat Lalkhoti for the first time.

Lalkhoti is the same place that Subash Ghisingh had created the secretariat of DGHC and ruled the Darjeeling hills for 21 years.

Darjeeling, August 4: The chapter of GTA now formally opened for the people of hills. The players of GTA have been sworn to make them work for its people. The high profile swearing-in ceremony attended by Union Home Minister, Chief Minister, Railway Minister have much to say on GTA, however, the expectation of common people over GTA is much skeptical with mere 200 crore as previous DGHC. Almost no infrastructure and the inexperienced manpower on hand seems pretty difficult in the road of GTA, only due course time will reveal the truths and realities.

Darjeeling, July29: Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Polling in all 17 constituencies has been conducted peacefully in DGHC areas. GJMM, Trinamool Congress as well as an Independent candidate contested today. There are total 212065 voters and 292 polling stations in 17 constituencies under Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong subdivision, about 75 percent of total vote casted today as per the government sources. Out of 45 seats, GJMM have already won 28 seats unopposed, polling was held today for remaining 17 seats.  The people have boycotted in three polling stations - Belgachi, Panighata and Sukna. However, there was no any untoward incident reported today. Counting will be held on August 2 and the GTA swearing ceremony is scheduled to be held on August 4 in presence of Home Minister P Chidambaram, MP Jaswant Singh, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Darjeeling, July 27: GJMM observed martyr day at Gymkhana club by organizing various programs. Martyr families were also felicitated by party president Bimal Gurung. During the occasion, Bimal Gurung unexpectedly announced the two GTA nominated councilors as 85 years old Mr. Birkhu Bhusal of Doraga Bazaar and Sabitri Rai of Lebong. GJMM has been assigned to nominate five nominated councillors apart from the 45 elected members.
